The Wizards have completed a sign-and-trade with the Bulls and have included point guard Tomas Satoransky in the deal.
The Bulls will acquire Satoranksy’s three-year, $30 million contract and in return the Wizards will receive a 2020 second-round pick as well as the right to swap draft order on a 2022 second-round pick.
The Wizards and interim President of Basketball Ops. Tommy Sheppard have now picked up three second round picks since draft night after former President of Basketball Ops. Ernie Grunfeld traded most of the Wizards second-round picks until 2023.
Satoranksy, 27, had to step up once again after starting point guard John Wall went down with a heel injury and will likely be out through next season.
Satoransky played in 80 games this season while starting 54 of them while averaging 27.1 minutes per game. Satoransky is known more as a playmaker than a shooter where he averaged five assists per game against only 8.9 points per game.
The Wizards signed point guard Ish Smith earlier today to fill the void that Sato’s departure left.
