There are two major games this Saturday for Week 0 of College Football. The first is Florida-Miami in Orlando. The second is Arizona vs Hawaii in Halawa. So we are previewing these games.
Arizona vs Hawaii
Now I don’t claim to be an expert on the Pac-12 or the Mountain West. So I don’t know a whole lot about either team. What I do know, however is that both teams have explosive players handling their QB position. Fresh off a down season, Arizona’s Khalil Tate looks to fill back to his former self this season. Head Coach Kevin Sumlin looks to rebound after a down first year. But I like the other QB in this matchup. Cole McDonald is quietly becoming a top QB in the league, and I think Saturday he proves it. I know I’m taking the underdog here, but I like the Warriors at home against Arizona.
My Pick: Hawaii 38 – Arizona 28
Florida vs Miami
This game has been in the news a lot. It renews a classic rivalry. It’s the first game of the college football year. But if you shred away the hype and glitz of it, it’s two teams looking to punish each other. Florida Quarterback Feliepe Franks is rolling high off of the bowl win last year against Michigan. The Gator secondary is back to full strength and looking good. The front four always looks scary. But don’t count out the Canes. New QB Jarren Williams looks to prove to the coaches and fans that he’s the guy, not Tate Martell. I think this game may be a trap for Florida, but I don’t think Miami has the pieces yet to close the trap.
My Pick: Florida 31- Miami 14
